United States guide · Botanical ingredient from Morocco

A rare face oil pressed from the seeds of the prickly pear cactus that grows across southern Morocco.
The cactus fruit of southern Morocco
Prickly pear (Opuntia ficus-indica) grows as hedges around villages in southern Morocco. The fruit is eaten fresh, but the oil comes from its tiny seeds, and a great deal of fruit is needed for a small bottle. Women's cooperatives in several regions harvest and press it.
It is a cactus fruit, like buah naga, which you already know. The seeds, not the flesh, are what make the oil.
Does this sound like you?
A finishing oil for skin at night. Start slowly in humid weather.
Dull, tired skin by evening
2–3 drops pressed onto damp skin at night help it feel soft by morning.
Air-conditioned dryness
A drop in your night moisturiser seals in water. It does not replace the moisturiser.
Dry elbows and heels
A few drops on damp heels and elbows, then socks, is a simple night routine.
Oily or breakout-prone skin
Go slowly: one drop, once a week, and stop if you break out. Any rich oil can feel heavy.
How to use it
A few drops are enough. Use it at night only.
Put 2–3 drops in your palm, warm them and press onto damp skin. Start 3–4 nights a week.

Tips
A few drops go a long way.
01
Warm them in your palms and press on, do not rub.
02
Wake up to soft skin, then moisturiser and sunscreen in the morning.
03
It is a precious oil, so a small bottle is a good sign.
Argan comes from a tree kernel and works on hair ends; prickly pear oil comes from cactus seeds and is mostly a face oil. They are different oils for different jobs.
