Cleanse the scalp, condition the lengths and decide whether the ends need anything more.
For readers who need to clean their scalp while caring separately for dry lengths, with argan only as an optional finish for the lengths.
Your shampoo and your argan oil do different jobs. Begin with the cleansing and conditioning products that suit your hair; add the Moroccan ingredient only if it earns its place on the lengths. You do not need to replace a familiar shampoo simply to follow this routine.
Set out a clean towel and the products you already use for the steps below. Read the directions on any new product before you begin.
Step 1
Apply your shampoo to the scalp following its directions, then rinse well. Choose your wash schedule by how dirty or oily your hair becomes, not by a fixed rule about wearing a hijab.

Use conditioner according to its directions. For fine hair, concentrate on the lengths and ends rather than coating the scalp. Rinse as directed.

Blot rather than rub your hair. If the ends still need a finishing product, use a small amount of a hair-use argan formula as directed. A conditioned length may need no extra oil.

Before wearing a hijab, allow the roots to dry fully. Drying time depends on your hair and is additional to the active care time shown here.
Remember which part of the result came from washing and conditioning before deciding what the argan finish added. Argan oil is not the same product as an argan shampoo or conditioner. Keep those roles separate in your product list, and allow the extra drying time your own hair needs before moving on with your day.
The 15-minute estimate is active washing and care time, not a promise that every hair type dries in 15 minutes.
After washing, follow the label for damp or dry application. Begin with a small amount on lengths and ends so the hair does not feel weighed down.
Do not automatically use a lengths serum on the scalp. Scalp products can have different directions, timing and rinsing requirements.
After washing, read whether your finishing product belongs on damp or dry hair and whether it stays on or needs rinsing. Use its stated amount on the named areas; a dropper oil and a pump conditioner do not share one universal dose. If you cover your hair, allow the drying time your own hair needs rather than counting it inside this routine's active care time.
On a hot or active day, more oil does not necessarily mean better-protected hair. A sweaty scalp needs cleansing and time to dry; argan oil is more useful for dry-feeling lengths and ends when the formula is genuinely intended as a leave-in.
Judge the hair after it is fully dry, not only by the temporary shine immediately after application. Notice whether the strands feel easier to manage or instead sticky and heavy. Remember the amount used so the next adjustment is not guesswork.
Judge the result after a full day under a hijab: are the ends comfortable, do the roots become greasy sooner, and is there residue on the inner cap? Reduce the amount or frequency before adding another product. A useful routine must remain comfortable through commuting, heat and activity—not only look glossy five minutes after application.
Use suitable products you already own. This selection may not cover every step; open CareFinder to apply your budget, BPOM and Halal preferences.
Common questions
Begin with the minimum amount on the label and add gradually. Hair length, texture and product format affect what feels comfortable.
Reduce the amount or frequency and keep the product on mid-lengths and ends. Also make sure the formula is intended as a leave-in if you do not rinse it.
