Argan shampoos are cleansers with a little argan oil added for softness. They do the washing; they are not the same as putting oil on your ends.
Check that argan oil appears in the ingredient list and not only on the front of the bottle, and choose a sulfate-free formula if your scalp likes a gentler wash.
